Warning. Trans Fat is the New Tobacco

If trans fats were replaced with healthier alternatives, thousands of cardiac deaths could be prevented every year in Canada.

Help us remove heart-clogging TRANS FAT

The federal government gave the food industry until June 2009 to voluntarily reduce processed trans fats, with the promise that the government would step in if companies did not comply voluntarily. Although some companies rose to the challenge, others did not. Many foods consumed by children are still riddled with deadly artificial trans fats. It doesn't have to be this way. Processed trans fats can be easily replaced with healthier and less harmful alternatives without limiting the choice of foods for Canadians.
