Taking ControlTaking control: Lower your risk of heart disease and stroke

Preventing heart disease and stroke is important. A great place to start is to learn to identify and control your risk factors – and the Heart and Stroke Foundation can help. While you can’t control your age, family history, gender or ethnicity, there are many other risk factors – obesity, diabetes, smoking, high blood pressure and elevated blood cholesterol – that you can control.

Talk to your healthcare professional and use this booklet to help guide you towards a heart-healthier life.

Take the first step towards a longer, healthier life!
